Airtel has introduced a new feature that lets you borrow data in case of an emergency. The service is available to all postpaid customers and can be activated by calling customer care. Here’s everything you need to know about the new service.

How to take an emergency loan in Airtel?

If you’re an Airtel customer, you can take an emergency loan by dialing *141#. You will then be prompted to select “Emergency Loan” from the menu. Enter the amount you need and confirm your request. The loan will be deducted from your next recharge.

What are the terms and conditions?

If you are an Airtel customer, you can avail of an Emergency Data Loan by dialing *141*10#. This service is available to prepaid customers only. To avail of the loan, customers will have to pay a one-time service charge of Rs. 4 (inclusive of taxes). The loan amount will be credited to the customer’s account immediately and will be deducted from the next recharge. Customers can use the loan amount for data services only. The data loan offer is valid for a period of 7 days from the date of availing the loan.

How to repay the loan?

If you have taken an emergency data loan from Airtel, you can repay it by using Airtel’s online recharge facility. To do so, log in to your account on the Airtel website and select the ‘Emergency Data Loan’ option. You will then be able to select the amount you wish to repay and make the payment using your credit/debit card or net banking.
